SAT and ACT Test Prep in Newtown, PA
SAT vs ACT
Our program is designed for students looking for competitive SAT / ACT scores, with the goal of gaining admittance to colleges around the country.
What are the SAT and ACT?
SAT / ACT are standardized tests accepted by most colleges.
The SAT relies on trickery, while the ACT tests in a more curriculum-based style.
ACT questions are more cut and dry than the SAT. The material a student learns in school will be tested on the ACT and presented in the same way that it was presented in school.
Both the SAT and ACT have Score Choice, allowing students to send their best scores to colleges if they take the exams multiple times.
Which test should you take?
Each exam allows for a separate chance at the standardized testing process.
This is why we strongly recommend that students take both tests because each one is an opportunity to hit your peak score. Believe us, you need every shot you can get at these tests, so just take both the SAT and ACT!
Either way, after our course, students will be prepared for both exams. All the Math, Reading and Writing techniques learned in SAT class can all be applied to the ACT and vice versa.
WHAT DOES OUR CURRICULUM COVER?
We hate to call them tricks because they are actually very clever alternate methods for solving SAT / ACT Math problems. Let's just say that these tricks are your best friends when things get tough! These techniques need to be taught upfront, as they yield amazing results when put into practice.
Vocabulary in Context
Many students get stressed over vocabulary on the SAT / ACT. However, the real trick is knowing how to use the vocabulary you already have to get questions right. We cover this as part of our comprehensive curriculum.
You didn't think we would only teach Math tricks, did you? We also teach Math concepts necessary to solve SAT / ACT Math problems. We focus ONLY on those concepts. That's what differentiates us from typical SAT / ACT tutors. We know which concepts to teach and which to pass over.
Grammar & Writing Skills
We teach the 25 Grammar Rules and the 3 punctuation rules that lead to SAT / ACT improvement. It's as simple as that. You do not have to be an English Professor to do well on the SAT / ACT Writing / English sections.
We teach specific techniques that show students what to look for when reading passages. You only need to take away a few basic elements from a reading passage to do well on the SAT / ACT. We also teach students how to differentiate between right and wrong answer choices.
Confidence and Test Taking Skills
Many students feel that their futures are riding on these tests. Our program is designed to alleviate this pressure one step at a time. We ALREADY know which skills and concepts the kids struggle with and we teach our students how to build confidence in a very simple way.
